Long periods of hiatus

17th April 2014

It has been an awfully long time since I made any quilts, which has made me question, what is the purpose of this blog these days?

Hmm let's explore what I have been spending my time on.

Make more pretties?

Should I grow more chillies?

Go out and smell the flowers?

Go into town?

Quilt #16 blue & green

24th June 2013

Originally I had this idea in my mind of a perfect green quilt.  Like with most of my work in projects, these already cut triangles was put away.  Since I joined various sewing groups on facebook, I came across a blue and green showcase hosted by Betty Bubs and this is the outcome.

So this is one of my many personal projects ticked off my list and I am looking forward to this going to a good home.
Measures: 156cm x 124cm
Fabric: Cottons and cotton blends including various green & blue batiks
Backing: poly cotton blend
Batting: 100% cotton
Hand quilted in a zig zag formation with extra decorative stitching.

Hand quilted and hand binded

Quilt #14

3rd June 2013

Variation to the invisible 9 blocks, this quilt measures roughly 1m x 1.5m. Riley Blakes are great fabrics to work with! Hand quilted and hand binded of course. Ready to be sent to the lovely lady who ordered this.

Quilt #13 boy quilt

3rd June 2013

This quilt is a custom order for a baby boy. I love the randomness of these squares, great for 'I spy' games!

I'm not really a fan of orangy colours but I really like what I created here with this quilt.  Measures roughly 124cm x 94cm.
